Indie Zine Timeline Updates & Art Fight
I briefly talked about this on Bluesky, but I've been balancing a few projects this month so the Indie Game Zine will be coming out sometime in July. I was hoping to have wrapped it up by next week but I wanted to challenge myself by learning a new program to help with formatting larger zines. I started out working in Affinity but it was rubbing me the wrong way so I switched over to Scribus which has been recommended to me a couple of times. After a bit of trial and error (and some uncharacteristic patience) I think I've got the hang of it! So please stay tuned for that!
The other project is a tiny video game I've been working on with Lemonpoppyseedgames! We are utilizing the game engine wareware which has been a lot of fun. I've been working on creating pixel art for the game which is helping me flex some creative muscles I rarely get to use. The game we are making is a submission for Game Poems Magazine which is due July 1st.
Also starting in July is Artfight! I'm incredibly excited to start this year despite feeling a bit burned out. I will be working more slowly this year to keep a steady pace throughout the month. I have one more character reference I'd like to post before July 1st but uh... You know. Balancing.
And of course there's work, social events, prepping D&D- I have a lot on my plate this month. But once we ease into July it should be smooth sailing. Stay safe this summer and keep creating!
