End of Art Fight 2025

Wow, this year's Art Fight was a big one for me! I drew 27 attacks (13 more than last year!) and received 60 attacks + 26 mass attacks. I made a chart with all of my Megazumi pets and how many times they were drawn! Poor Poko didn't receive a single drawing this year ;_;

"Woobi had the most drawings with 19! The EXACT same number as last year!"

This year I've struggled to motivate myself to draw digitally, but thankfully I think I've broken out of my rut and feel more confident in my digital work. I tried to draw more consistently and not force myself to spend too long on any particular attack. I found a good rhythm and kept up the pace for the first couple of weeks before slowing down towards the end.

I've also been practicing drawing on an iPad via Procreate. At first, I really hated it. My lines were wobbly and the tablet surface just didn't feel natural. But now I think I have a better handle on it. It's not my preferred way to illustrate- but I was able to do my sketches on the go which helped increase the amount of attacks I was able to make!

It was difficult choosing who to attack- I had a good chunk of revenges and SO many mutuals that I couldn't get around to. Plus, I wanted to make sure to make art for people I didn't know as that feels much more in the spirit of the game.

I don't think all of my drawings this year were successful, but it's been a great growing experience for me! I can see all the ways I could improve and how much further I can still grow as an artist. My biggest weakness for this year was definitely backgrounds. It's never been my strong suit and I really felt it weighing me down towards the end.

I just wanted to draw characters! I wanna draw little guys!

Next year my goal is to attack more growing artists! I'll definitely be on the lookout for new and unique characters.

I've uploaded my favorite attacks this year to my Art page and my favorite defenses on my new Other Artists page. There were too many favorites to choose from, so I added a bonus drawing below by one of my favorite artists lamby. You can see more of their work here: https://lamby.carrd.co or on Bluesky.

Did you participate in Art Fight? What was your favorite defense?

Let me know!
