My First Time Tabling! (Zine Fest)

It has been a busy month!

I spent the last few weeks counting, cutting and folding zine in preparation for Insert Name Zine Fest (INZF) in Minneapolis. This was my first time tabling at an event! I've been interested in tabling since January or February of this year but I didn't have any opportunities until INZF and I was fortunate enough to be accepted as a vendor.

In addition to preparing zines, I also designed and printed out my own stickers. They were a bit of a pain to cut out by hand, but they ended up looking really nice and I managed to ACTUALLY use the CMYK filter in Clip Studio Paint to assist with the colors.

Which, oh boy! CMYK printing can be a fickle beast! Selecting the right colors is very difficult as the range is much more limited compared to digital color.

"Four sticker designs I made. Pompompurin, Wooper, a funny rabbit, and a powerful shrimp."

Side note: I plan on selling these stickers on my Ko-fi before the end of the month!

INZF was such an incredible experience. I got to connect with so many artists and art lovers throughout the whole day. My first day was spent tabling and I was a bit nervous for setup but it went smoothly. Everything I used here was thrifted! I also intended to spray paint some of my stuff- but I ran out of time.

Before the event began I quickly ran around checking out the other tables to buy some zines. I shared my table with Moritz, a comic artist from Milwaukee. Moritz is definitely an up and coming indie artist with strange and comedic work you should check out!

The greatest moment for me was when a girl around 7 or 8 years old asked to trade zines. I love this zine! I might even draw some of the designs from it for fun sometime.

It was such an honor to meet so many other incredible artists and it reminded me how amazing the zine community is. I ended up spending most of the money I made on art and zines ^^; So here's a couple of pictures of my haul.

To all of the friends I met for the first time or meeting again, it was so great to see you there! I'm definitely looking forward to the next zine fest and hopefully tabling again soon. Special thanks to Ejoymehr for hosting INZF. Your compassion and creativity inspires me to do more in my community. Can't wait for next year!
