[WIP] Zine Details
I'm hosting a new Indie Video Game Zine that highlights indies that deserve more love. Any indie game you consider a hidden gem would be a good fit!
This is a submission based zine. I'm looking for essays, reviews, screenshots, artwork, cosplay, etc..
If you have any questions contact me via email or DM me on Tumblr or Bluesky.
The final zine will be posted online for free. I will also print out free physical copies to distribute at zine fests and other events. I'm aiming for a 24 page zine, but depending on the number of submissions that may change.
Submit your work here: (Link currently unavailable)
Submission Deadline: TBD
Rules:
- No generative AI, no NSFW, no hate speech or bigotry
- Written pieces should not exceed 1,000 words
- Including game screenshots with written work is preferred
- Full page artwork will be 1650 x 2550 px
- Other artwork and images should be at least 500 x 500 px
- Multiple submissions are acceptable
Q&A:
Q: Is there a specific theme for the zine?
A: No specific theme this time around, as long as your submission is related to an indie video game.
Q: What is considered an indie game?
A: Personally, I see indie games as being developed by small teams with small budgets. For example, Clair Obscur Expedition 33 could be considered an indie game but I would not personally include it due to its budget and scope.
Q: Can I submit a popular indie game?
A: Popular titles will be accepted (ex: Deltarune, Silksong, Hades II) but lesser known games are preferred.
Q: I'm an indie dev, may I submit something about my own game?
A: Yes, absolutely! I would prefer games that are already released, plan to be released this year, or have a demo available for people to check out.
Q: Are submissions based on mods and ROM-hacks allowed?
A: It depends! In most cases, I'll likely say yes. But due to the gray area of sharing mods and ROMs this will not be the zine's focus.
